Old Fashioned Pecan Pie

Inspired by an Old Fashioned, this Pecan Pie packs delicious flavors of bourbon and orange. It puts a twist on a classic, and might become your new favorite. When developing this recipe, it was devoured within hours — it’s a must try.

Old Fashioned Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • Ready-to-Bake Pie Crust (we used Pillsbury)

  • 3 eggs, large

  • ¾ cup sugar

  • ¾ cup light Karo syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 orange, zested and juiced

  • 3 Tablespoons whiskey bourbon

  • 1 cup Fancy Pecan Halves

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400℉. Place ready-to-bake pie crust in a pie plate and set aside.

  • In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with a spoon then add the sugar and stir until dissolved.

  • Add the Karo syrup, vanilla extract, orange zest and juice, and whiskey bourbon. Stir until well combined.

  • Stir in the Fancy Pecan Halves until evenly distributed.

  • Pour pecan mixture into the prepared pie plate.

  • Bake at 400℉ for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, reduce heat to 350℉ and bake for another 25 minutes.

  • Cool before serving.

  • Enjoy!
